EXPLORE JUNIPER FLATS
Join
the Muleteam on Saturday, January 3rd for a hike in the Mule
Mountains. This 4 1/2 hour hike is approx 4 miles long. The trail has some challenging sections due to loose rocks and softball sized
stones that can cause tripping. Bring water, lunch and maybe hiking
poles. Meet at the Old Bisbee courthouse fountain at 9am to carpool up to the trail
site which is past the first tower and before the second tower. Call
Carol for more details 413-667-8760.

BACKTRACK - Holiday Hike to the Bisbee Cross
It
was a rainy and cold morning, and I thought that no-one would be so
foolish as to hike up the wet rock trail to the Cross. What a fool to
underestimate the grit of the Muleteam! Thirteen intrepid hikers
showed up and ready to go, with at least four newbies. The rain
petered off and we all got to the summit and were rewarded with many
new additions of crosses and tokens. There is always something new
added every time we visit, which always makes the hike worthwhile in
addition to the great view of Bisbee, even on a cloudy day. We stayed
on top to take in the view and relax for a long time, and went our
own ways very happy with a wonderful experience. Six of us had a very
good lunch in the new Waffle House in downtown Old Bisbee. - DougArchive Photos:
