HIKE BEYOND THE LITTLE BOQUILLAS RANCH

Join the Muleteam this Saturday for a hike on the San Pedro Trail south of the Fairbank Schoolhouse.  We will pass the Little Boquillas Ranch, then eventually branch off to visit a "relic of the past" and have lunch by the river.  On the way back feel free to explore the ranch.  The hike is approximately 7 miles roundtrip on an old dirt road with minor elevation changes.  Bring water and lunch. Back mid-afternoon.

Meet March 13 at 9:00 a.m. by the Old Bisbee Courthouse fountain.  From there we will car-caravan in our separate vehicles (no carpooling at this time).  If you are planning to meet at the trailhead, meet around 9:40 in the parking lot across the road from the Fairbank Schoolhouse on SR82 (by the corrals). Free. For more information contact Sandy at 520-353-5124 or slajudice@yahoo.com.

Hikers are asked to wear masks, with the exception of those who have difficulty with physical exertion while masked. The latter are asked to maintain a six-foot distance from other hikers.

BACKTRACK - Galena to Gold Gulch

Muleteam welcomed some new hikers among the twenty-one human and four canine participants in this local hike. The route gave us some unfamiliar perspectives on familiar places – from Galena to Bakerville by footpath, and then through Warren on an old railbed. We paralleled Airport Road, again on dirt, until we got to Gold Gulch Road. Our destination was the site of an old racetrack which hosted demolition derbies back in the day. We gathered on the large adjoining concrete slab for lunch and for Doug’s recitation of John B.’s tribute to John W.’s Little Guy. We returned the way we had come, making it a six-mile hike on a beautiful day. - Elizabeth
