BACKTRACK - Rucker Gates
The eight of us had sunny skies and a creek full of beautiful water in this 7 mile round trip to the base of the Switchbacks. However, the water was a few inches too high to make most of the 28 stream crossings truly enjoyable.  (I was wearing only my extra socks at the High Desert afterward because my shoes were so wet.) A Red Admiral butterfly joined us at lunch. Sox had to do extra duty as the only dog on the hike itself although Little Guy provided moral support from the truck and did an inspection of the parking lot afterwards.  -John Broz

Dave took the attached photo with timer and sends his apologies to John Wasser.
