Laura's Loop

HIKE FROM OLD BISBEE TO THE HILLS ABOVE ZACATECAS CANYON
Join the Muleteam this Saturday, November 18th for one of our easier local hikes which we call Laura’s Loop in honor of the favorite hike of our neighbor Laura. Starting at 9am at the Courthouse we'll walk city streets to the end of OK Street. From there we'll follow a trail along the sides of the hills, with great views of the Mule Mountain Ridge and down to Zacatecas Canyon. At the end of the Canyon, we’ll have the option to pick up City Trail (with different views of downtown Bisbee) to High Road and then on the street back to the Courthouse. For those who don’t want to hike City Trail, you’ll have the option to walk down Brewery Gulch through downtown and up Main Street directly to the Courthouse. About 4 miles total. Bring water and a snack. Back before 1pm. Dogs welcome. Free. For more details call Doug at (520) 432-0307 or reiniger@wyoming.com.

Also on November 18th there will be a Celebration of Life for John MacKinnon, the recently deceased husband of Elizabeth Bernstein. Elizabeth has been an active member of the Muleteam for many years. The celebration will take place at 2pm at the Bisbee School District office at 519 W. Melody Lane, so there will be plenty of time to get there after the hike.

BACKTRACK - Clark Springs
In all 10 hikers and one dog began the trek up the Clark Springs Trail from the Miller Canyon parking area.  The air was crisp and the sun was shining so it made for a perfect hike for both old and new friends.  After lunch we headed down the trail and took the John Cooper Loop back.  In total about four miles and an early afternoon finish.
From what I hear, it wasn't nearly as eventful as last week's hike, but a good one with easy walking and great conversation.  Thanks!  - Sandy

SIDETRACK - Nov 25?
Hello, Team. We don't have a volunteer to lead the hike on November 25. This is Home Tour weekend, so we're looking for someone to come up with a short, local hike that will end at about noon. That will enable anyone who wants to visit some homes and engage in the auction (which ends at 4:00pm) at least three hours. If we don't get a volunteer by the end of next week, we'll have to cancel the hike for that day.

On another note, we don't have any volunteers for any hikes between Jan 13 and March 2. Please think about a cool weather destination.  - Doug
