Mule Mtn Ridge

RIDGE TRAIL COUNTERSPIN
Join the Muleteam this Saturday November 19 and hike the Bisbee "Counterspin" high on the ridge trail above Bisbee. We'll start by walking up Tombstone Canyon before accessing the ridge trail via Locklin Ave. Once at the trail junction we'll hang a left toward Juniper Flats and then a right at the 3-way trail intersection and down into Zacatecas Canyon. This stretch of the ridge trail provides stunningly wild views! Once in the canyon, hikers will have a chance to choose their own way home, either by completing the loop via the City Trail, or meandering through the streets of Bisbee. The total distance is roughly 4.5 miles, with about 1,000 feet elevation gain. Bring water and a snack, we'll be back by lunchtime. Dogs are welcome. Meet at 9 am on Saturday by the old Bisbee courthouse fountain to start the hike. Free. For more information, contact Deb at (802)777-1499 or debvanschaack@gmail.com.

BACKTRACK - Perimeter trail
We were 10 on the Perimeter Hike today, and we still couldn’t keep together!  It was a cool, sunny beautiful day and some zoomed ahead while others took it slowly.  We managed, though, to eventually rendezvous at the top.  My eternal question about this hike remains: why does it always feel so much longer on the way back?  Answer me that, dear universe.  - Laura
