HIKE THE PERIMETER TRAIL
Join the Muleteam this Saturday November 12th for a hike along the winding foothills of the Huachuca Mountains between Carr and Miller Canyons. This is a well-marked and relatively easy, level trail along the hillside with great views of the San Pedro Valley, Hereford and Mexico. We start at the first Carr Canyon Road parking area off Route 92, lunch at the overlook of a Miller Road parking area, and then backtrack to our starting point; about 7 miles roundtrip. Bring water and lunch. Dogs on leash welcome. Meet Nov 12 at 9am by the Old Bisbee courthouse fountain to carpool or join us at 10:00am at the Carr Road parking area. Back late afternoon. Gas donation to carpool drivers is appreciated. For more details call or text Laura at 206-715-6589 or mssmithlg@aol.com.

BACKTRACK - Brown Canyon
13 of us, both new and regular hikers strolled along Brown Canyon with dramatic golden leaves of the sycamore trees. We stopped at the water trough for the group photo. Perfect weather for our lunch with a long view of the San Pedro valley. We saw quite a few bikers (some going too fast for us hikers), an old grave site, the historic ranch house and a baby tarantula. -Larry

SIDETRACK - Music & Food Fundraiser
Dave Meraz who was a regular Muleteam hiker was recently involved in a serious accident and suffered a broken back. With mounting expenses and a wrecked truck the American Legion is trying to raise enough to purchase a new vehicle for him and help cover some of these costs. Please stop by and enjoy an afternoon and evening with several musical guests. Pulled pork sandwiches and baked beans: $10.
Sat, Nov 12, 3-9pm • American Legion 1422, Hwy 92, Bisbee
SIDETRACK - San Pedro Beaver Survey (alternate Dec 3rd activity)
Muleteam regular Mike Foster (sarjuesos@gmail.com) is very involved in the AZ Watershed Management Group and is promoting a Bi-National San Pedro Beaver Survey. If you're interested, contact Mike. He has a lot more information, including a virtual orientation and training on December 1st at 6:00-7:00pm.
Come search for signs of beavers all while taking in the beautiful views the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area (SPRNCA) has to offer. Be a part of a team in a bi-national effort to further understand beaver activity in Southern Arizona and Sonora, Mexico. We are looking for volunteers to join us in hiking along and in the San Pedro River for several miles in search of beaver activity such as beaver dams, lodges, and chews. Additionally, we are looking for assistance shuttling the volunteers from the survey endpoints back to their vehicles. The 2022 U.S. Beaver Survey will occur on Saturday, December 3rd from 9:00Aam to 4:00pm.
Your efforts will help us determine where and how many beavers have taken up residence in the San Pedro and its tributaries! For more information and to sign up, please visit the Watershed Management group website at:
