Mural Hill

HIKE TO MURAL HILL
Join the Muleteam this Saturday from Old Bisbee to the edge of the high flat-top mountain best seen from the traffic circle. This trail of desert path and unused dirt road is a mostly uphill walk with a short, steep scramble to the top and thorny in places. It's about 7 miles total with a wonderful view from the crest. Bring water and lunch. Back mid-afternoon. Meet Dec 30 at 9am by the Old Bisbee courthouse fountain to start the hike. Free. For more details contact Larry at larryjmilam@gmail.com or 520-224-4951.

BACKTRACK - Bisbee Crosses
This past Saturday, seven people and one dog set out in the cold wind, which is requisite weather when the Muleteam does the annual winter holiday hike to the crosses and shrines above Old Bisbee. The previous night's rain presented a gorgeous clear sky and vibrant variations of color in the rocks. Having made an early start, longtime Muleteam hiker John Wasser was already surveying the views above Old Bisbee once the group arrived. The shrine was established by Adolfo and Mary Vasquez in 1980, and it was noticed that the beautiful details among the shrines have changed as the years pass. Thank you for keeping this tradition going. Happy Holidays, Muleteam friends.  - Maggie
