BACKTRACK - Miller Peak
Ten hikers started out at Coronado parking lot to begin the 5.3 mile (one way) trek up to Miller Peak. Eight breathless hikers scrambled through patches of snow as they neared the summit. At the top they were rewarded with a 360 degree hazy view of Mexico and Cochise County, and the knowledge that they accomplished an elevation gain of approximately 4000'. The weather was sunny, breezy and cold. On the way back down the group passed quite a few backpackers heading northward with the intent to complete the Arizona Crest trail. - Carol
